Dalhousie University Entrance Awards & Scholarships 2026-2027 for Bachelor Founded in 1818, Dalhousie University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Halifax (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Nova Scotia. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Labour and Advanced Education, Nova Scotia, Dalhousie University is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Dalhousie University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 201 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 60-70% making this Canadian higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Award amounts typically range from approximately $1,000 for your first year to $80,000 over four years. 

Application Process

To be considered for the General Entrance Award program, students must complete the application and submit any additional documents before the deadline.

If you have been accepted to a Dalhousie program:

You must complete the following before the deadline to be considered for entrance awards:

  • Complete the General Entrance Award  application
  • Submit your official first semester transcript or, for NS and ON applicants, your provincial student ID number.

If you have not yet been accepted to a Dalhousie program

You must complete the following before the deadline to be considered for entrance awards:

  • Apply to an undergraduate program at Dalhousie
  • Complete the General Entrance Award  application
  • Pay the $70 CAD admissions application fee.
  • Submit your official first semester transcript or, for NS and ON applicants, your provincial student ID number.

Please note, a small number of awards do require a  separate application, that can be completed after you apply.
