Seoul National University (SNU) Graduate School, in partnership with the Daesang Foundation are inviting applicants to apply for the Daesang Asia Scholarships.

Applicants must hold a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree (depending on the program) from a recognized institution, demonstrate strong academic performance, and meet the university’s language proficiency requirements.

Daesang Asia Scholarships in South Korea Established in 1946, Seoul National University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Seoul (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Suwon. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education, Korea, Seoul National University (SNU) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Seoul National University (SNU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 73 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 10-20% making this South Korean higher education organization a most selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Indonesia, Vietnam
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the Seoul National University Graduate School (Liberal Arts/Social Sciences or Natural Sciences/Engineering).
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Newly admitted to SNU Graduate School for Spring 2026.

  • Enrolled in a Master’s (max 2 years), PhD (max 2 years), or combined Master’s-PhD program (max 3 years).

  • Submit required documents including Application Form, Self Description, Statement of Purpose, consent forms, academic transcripts/degree certificates from Indonesian universities, and optional TOPIK level 3+ transcript (for bonus points).

Offered Benefits

  • Liberal Arts/Social Sciences: 19,000,000 KRW/year (tuition up to 7,000,000 KRW + 12,000,000 KRW living stipend).

  • Natural Sciences/Engineering: 20,000,000 KRW/year (tuition up to 8,000,000 KRW + 12,000,000 KRW living stipend).

  • One-time 500,000 KRW settlement aid for first arrival in Korea.

Application Process

Submit all required documents by December 26, 2025 (Friday), via your affiliated college as an official document to SNU Office of International Affairs (OIA). Early submission is recommended.
