DAAD is offering scholarships for high-achieving students from developing countries to pursue a Master’s degree in STEM disciplines at top universities in Germany.

Applicants must be high-achieving students from developing and emerging countries who have completed a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification recognized in Germany. Those applying should intend to pursue a full-time, tuition-free Master’s degree in a STEM discipline at a state or state-recognized German university.The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is the largest funding organization in the world supporting international academic exchange. Founded in 1925, it provides scholarships and funding to students, researchers, and academics, fostering cooperation between Germany and other countries. DAAD’s programs focus on promoting the internationalization of German higher education, supporting research collaborations, and offering scholarships for study and research opportunities in Germany.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Developing and emerging countries
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any STEM subject (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, engineering) offered by the German university
  • Admissible Criteria:
    To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
    • Must be high-achieving students from developing and emerging countries.
    • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent recognized in Germany by the application deadline.
    • Applicants already holding a Master’s degree are not eligible to apply.
    • The selected Master’s degree program must be tuition-free and in the STEM disciplines.

• Monthly scholarship of 992 euros
• Health, accident, and personal liability insurance
• Travel allowance
• Annual study allowance of 460 euros
• Possible additional benefits such as rent subsidy and family allowance
• Funding for German language courses (if applicable)
• Reimbursement for TestDaF or DSH test fees

Application Process

Interested applicants must submit a complete application including all mandatory documents. A pre-selection will be conducted based on the submitted documents, and pre-selected candidates will be invited for a digital interview with an independent committee.
