The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) invites applications for the K.C. Wong Postdoc Fellowships, designed to support young researchers from China in conducting postdoctoral research in Germany. This prestigious program aims to strengthen international collaboration and provide fellows with access to world-class research environments.

Applicants must be citizens of the People’s Republic of China with a doctoral degree. They need a confirmed research proposal and supervision from a German academic host, along with proof of language skills (German or English; in medicine, German preferred).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The fellowship will be awarded in any research field offered by the host university or research institute in Germany.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Submit a detailed and extensive research proposal.

  • Secure a letter of confirmation and supervision from an academic advisor in Germany.

  • Provide a declaration from the German supervisor on safety-relevant and ethical aspects of the project.

  • Demonstrate sufficient language skills (German or English; in medicine, German is preferred).

    • Prepare application documents
    • If necessary, translate documents (unless they are already in German or English).
    • Scan paper documents and save in PDF format. You can only upload PDF files to the portal.
    • Fill out the application form and upload the application documents to the portal in PDF format. Translations, if applicable, should be uploaded together with the document issued in the original language.
    • Submit the application online.
