The Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds invites applications for the Cultural Scholarships for talented Dutch academics and HBO graduates seeking to pursue further studies or research abroad. This prestigious award supports outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence, motivation, and ambition to continue their education internationally.

Applicants must be Dutch nationals or have lived in the Netherlands for at least three years. They should have completed a degree with an average grade of 8.0 or higher and plan to study or conduct research abroad for at least one year (for a master’s program) or three months (for research). Candidates must demonstrate strong motivation and exceptional talent.

Cultural Scholarships in Netherlands for Master Founded in 1976, Universiteit Maastricht (Maastricht University) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Maastricht (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Limburg. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministerie van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap, Nederland (Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Netherlands), Universiteit Maastricht (UM) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Universiteit Maastricht (UM) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 43 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Netherlands
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for any continuation course or research program in any academic field offered by recognized international institutions.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Must be of Dutch nationality or registered in the Netherlands for at least three years.

  • Must have completed a degree (bachelor’s or master’s).

  • Must hold a list of grades with an average score of 8.0 or higher.

  • Must be going abroad for at least one year for a master’s or similar program, or at least three months for follow-up research.

  • Must demonstrate high motivation and exceptional talent.
