The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with support from the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, has announced the ACU Accountancy Fellowships for the academic year 2022-2023.

This fellowship is expected to cover a minimum of six months of education costs which takes place between September 2022 and August 2022. The fellowship is valued up to a maximum of GBP 5,000 each. To be able to win this scholarship, students must apply for a programme offered by the Accountancy Department at CUHK.

CUHK Accountancy Fellowships in Hong Kong Founded in 1963, The Chinese University of Hong Kong is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the metropolis of Hong Kong (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Education Bureau, Hong Kong SAR, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 56 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All domestic students are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply for fellowship positions in the Accountancy Department at CUHK.

Offered Benefits

The Chinese University of Hong Kong will award the selected candidates funding of up to GBP5,000 to undertake their higher education.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Interested applicants must first identify and approach a collaborator at an  ACU member universities outside Hong Kong. Applicants should  register for a MyACU account and  log in to the system to access the application form.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Summarise the work you plan to carry out during the Fellowship, and how the collaboration will benefit the project. Explain why you have chosen to collaborate with your partner institution for the project rather than any other.
  • Describe the projected impact of the Fellowship work.
  • Explain how you expect the Fellowship to benefit your own professional development.
  • List the planned outputs of the Fellowship.
  • Submit a time plan of the work, which must cover a minimum of six months between September 2022 and August 2023.
  • List the costs associated with the Fellowship. These can include staff time, consumables, internet access and data, equipment, research data management, travel costs, impact and engagement, and open access.
  • Submit a letter or email of support from your head of department at your home institution.
  • Submit a letter or email of support from the collaborator at your partner institution.
  • Admission Requirements: All applicants must submit the necessary documents to apply.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • IELTS – 6.0
  • TOEFL IBT – 80
  • TOEFL CBT – 213
  • TOEFL PBT – 550
