We give PhD graduates an opportunity to work with leaders in the field of science, as well as offering generous personal development and learning opportunities. We're committed to the development of the next generation of scientists and engineers. Postdoctoral fellowships are one of the ways we achieve this.
Postdoctoral fellowships enable PhD graduates in scores of science or engineering disciplines to have their first career experience in one of our world class laboratories, under the supervision of leading scientists working on projects of national or global significance.
We offer postdoctoral fellowships to:
Provide young scientists with the opportunity to gain experience in order to develop capability for the nation; Assist universities to produce a pool of potential employees for CSIRO and the nation; Refresh and add value to our research activities through original insights, new knowledge and/or techniques; and Identify and recruit potential science leaders.
A postdoctoral fellowship is intended, first and foremost, to enhance the research capabilities of our entry level scientists and engineers so they are better able to pursue a career in science, either within CSIRO or elsewhere.
Fellowships are awarded for research in our science business units and in the National Facilities and Collections we manage.
