CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) is pleased to offer International PhD Top-Up Scholarship in Development of a Vectored Vaccine Against Bird Flu. This scholarship offers an exceptional opportunity for aspiring researchers to contribute to combating Newcastle disease and avian influenza viruses, which pose significant threats to both poultry and human populations.

The scholarship program is particularly open to domestic and international students who wish to undertake the PhD degree program for the academic session 2024/2025.

The primary aim of this scholarship program is to support the development of a recombinant Newcastle disease virus (NDV)-vectored vaccine platform that targets H5 or H7 avian influenza virus haemagglutinin. Through rigorous research and evaluation, the program seeks to enhance our understanding of immunogenicity and efficacy in poultry vaccination strategies against these infectious agents.
