  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship is available for any research subject offered by The Courtauld Institute of Art.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Demonstrate outstanding academic excellence as per The Courtauld’s Academic Excellence Criteria.

    • Meet the qualifying entry requirements for postgraduate research at The Courtauld.

    • There are no restrictions regarding nationality, personal characteristics, or field of study.

    • In cases of tied applications, Widening Participation Criteria may be considered to support The Courtauld’s aim of building a diverse and representative student body.

Offered Benefits

  • Full coverage of requisite university tuition fees for three years, plus fees for a writing-up year.

  • An annual maintenance stipend of £22,780 per annum for the first three years, to support living costs including accommodation, food, household bills, and course materials.

Application Process

  • Applications must be submitted using the official Application Form for Courtauld Scholarships.

  • First round of offers will be made before 6 March 2026.
