The objective of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT) Doctoral Training Scholarships is to help support and spark the interest of new generations of students working in fields as diverse as artificial intelligence, clean technologies and climate change. The Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT), offers financial support while ensuring the strategic and coherent development of research in mathematics, natural sciences and engineering.

FRQNT Doctoral Training Scholarships at Concordia University 2025 for PhD Founded in 1974, Concordia University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Montréal (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Quebec. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur, Québec (Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Quebec), Concordia University (CU) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: over-45,000 students) coeducational higher education institution. Concordia University (CU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 45 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident AND have a health insurance card issued by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ)

OR

You must present proof of admission to a program of study eligible for this scholarship program at a Quebec university; or an acceptance form from the research supervisor at a Quebec university (found online on the FRQnet application as “Supervisor’s form”).

You cannot have completed more than 14 full-time terms in your doctoral program as of May 1 following the application deadline.

Offered Benefits

$25,000 per year, up to four years.

Application Process

The application e-form is available through the  FRQnet system at least one month prior to the competition deadline. The form and required documents must be submitted electronically by the competition deadline through the FRQnet system. Applications can be written in French or English, however, the title must be in French.
