Civil Society Leadership Awards for an LL.M programme in Public International Law and Human Rights

Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) is pleased to announce a competition for the Civil Society Leadership Awards for an LL.M programme in Public International Law and Human Rights. The Civil Society Leadership Awards (CSLA) provides fully funded master’s level scholarships at a network of universities across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. The program aims to support individuals who demonstrate both academic and professional excellence and have potential to become civil society leaders in their home communities.
5 full Scholarships are on offer at RGSL to applicants from the following countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Cambodia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Laos, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. All teaching is conducted in English.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must satisfy standard RGSL entry requirements with respect to educational background and English proficiency. Scholarships are available to individuals with bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or related fields (or will be awarded a degree prior to admission to the programme), obtained in at least four years long studies.
  2. Scholarships are available to individuals who in the future want actively contribute to the civil society development of their home countries. Applicants must indicate current place of employment and specify the applicant's future plans to contribute to the development of civil society in the home country after completing the LL.M programme.

Offered Benefits

Successful applicants will receive the following support for studies at RGSL - tuition and mandatory university fees, monthly stipend for room, board, and other living expenses, program-related travel, accident and sickness insurance during the program, other expenses.
