Chinese government award-China-Africa Friendship Program is a fully-funded position that is established by the Ministry of Education.

The education award is to support Chinese universities to attract outstanding international students from African Countries for six-month general studies in China.

The university is offering a 122 bachelor degree program, 342 master degree programs, 248 doctoral degree programs, and 38 post-doctoral stations.

China-Africa Friendship General Scholar Program at Wuhan University 2020 Established in 1893, Wuhan University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Wuhan (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants), Hubei. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education of The People's Republic of China, Wuhan University (WHU) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: over-45,000 students) coeducational higher education institution. Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Countries: African students can apply for this application .
Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be awarded in any degree program offered by the university.
Admissible Criteria: Applicants must have:

  • Full-time applicants of African countries’ nationalities and in good health.
  • Outstanding international students from African Countries are eligible for six-month general studies in China.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: For applying, candidates need to register and submit your online application at Wuhan University Online Application System for International Students at http://admission.whu.edu.cn.
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must submit notarized degree certificate and transcripts, One recommendation letters from, Scanned copy, Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form, Valid English level certificate, Acceptance letter from, Performance certificate.
  • Language Requirements: Applicants for English-medium programs should provide score reports of English Language tests. TOEFL requires 80, IELTS requires 5.5. For those who could not offer the above mentioned Standard English test results, additional oral or written English tests organized by Wuhan University will be required to participate in.
  • Benefits: Applicants will receive Tuition waiver; Accommodation (700RMB/per month); Living allowance: ( 3000RMB/per month); Comprehensive medical insurance.
