CEU offers a competitive financial aid package to students in doctoral programs. Applicants to a CEU doctoral program are automatically considered for a CEU Doctoral Scholarship. Students admitted to CEU doctoral degree programs are eligible to receive the CEU Doctoral Scholarship for up to three years.

Central European University - CEU Doctoral Fellowship for Phd Founded in 1991, Közép-Európai Egyetem (Central European University) is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Budapest (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Magyar Felsooktatási Akkreditációs Bizottság (Hungarian Accreditation Committee), Közép-Európai Egyetem (CEU) is a very small (uniRank enrollment range: 1,000-1,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Közép-Európai Egyetem (CEU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

Students admitted to CEU doctoral degree programs are eligible to receive the CEU Doctoral Fellowship for up to three years.

Offered Benefits

Covers tuition and medical insurance. In addition, full fellowship recipients are awarded a monthly stipend of 220,000 HUF calculated to cover educational and accommodation costs (Economics PhD students receive a monthly stipend of 250,000 HUF). Students need to budget additionally for travel, recreation, and incidentals, which can vary with the individual.

Doctoral students are not automatically provided with accommodation in the CEU Residence Center. They are eligible to request a room on a space-availability basis, for which they will be expected to cover the costs individually.

All doctoral students are required to pay the Student Enrollment Fee.
