This Master's Degree is offered jointly with the WIPO Academy, the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), and Africa University (Mutare, Zimbabwe), with financial assistance from the Government of Japan.
All courses incorporate the theoretical and doctrinal foundations of the legal regime as well as the practical aspects of the particular areas of law.

Benefits of WIPO Master Scholarship
A number of scholarships are available. Scholarships cover:
- Return ticket
- Registration and tuition fees
- Full board and lodging
- Medical insurance
WIPO scholarships are awarded to:
- government officials and persons working in the public sector such as universities, academies and research and development institutions; and
- candidates should be from developing countries or least developed countries (LDCs).
Visa costs, if any, are at the expense of participants.
Successful applicants for WIPO scholarships are notified by the WIPO Academy. Thereafter, they will be provided with relevant information, including travel arrangements.
Requirements for WIPO Master Scholarship
To be considered, applicants shall:

hold a Bachelor's degree preferably in law, economics, engineering, medicine, physics, chemistry, communication sciences or business administration. An attendance of a minimum of three years of University in the above fields is required; and

advanced knowledge of English is a prerequisite (TOEFL 80/120 or IELTS 6.5/9).
Selection Process
Dates
- September to December 2024: compulsory distance learning phase through the WIPO Academy e-Learning Center (lms.wipo.int);
- January to February 2025: second phase of distance learning hosted by University of Turin
- March to June 2025: residential phase in Turin, Italy. This includes a three-day visit to WIPO Headquarters in Geneva.
- June to August 2025: preparation and submission of a final research paper.
