The University of Hong Kong is offering Buddhist Studies Scholarships for the academic year 2017-2018. These scholarships are available for all students pursuing postgraduate degree programme.
The programme is intended for individuals who are interested in the philosophy of life and want to study Buddhism and its practice as a means for spiritual development in a comprehensive and scientific way.

Eligibility Criteria
Tung Lin Kok Yuen Postgraduate Scholarships in Buddhist Studies: This scholarship is available for application for all students pursuing the Master of Buddhist Studies degree programme.
Glorious Sun Group Postgraduate Scholarships in Buddhist Studies: This scholarship is established to award Buddhist clergy who pursue the Master of Buddhist Studies (MBS) or Research Postgraduate degree programme.
Hong Kong Buddhist Association Postgraduate Scholarships in Buddhist Studies: This scholarship is available for application to all applicants of the Master of Buddhist Studies degree programme with priority of awards given to those who are teaching Buddhism in schools run by the Hong Kong Buddhist Association or administrators in the secretariat and subsidiary organisations of the Hong Kong Buddhist Association.
Offered Benefits
Tung Lin Kok Yuen Postgraduate Scholarships in Buddhist Studies: Scholarships of up to HK$50,000 & HK$140,000 each will be awarded to successful local and overseas applicants respectively. The value of each of the scholarships will be determined by the Selection Committee.
Glorious Sun Group Postgraduate Scholarships in Buddhist Studies: For MBS applicants, the maximum scholarship amount is HK$142,000 for overseas ones and HK$92,000 for local ones.
Hong Kong Buddhist Association Postgraduate Scholarships in Buddhist Studies: The number of scholarships awarded each year shall not be more than four and the annual scholarship fund available for allocation is HK$60,000. The value and the number of scholarships awarded each year will be determined by the Selection Committee.
Application Process
Application forms and supporting documents (if any) should be submitted through email. Hard copy will NOT be accepted. Two reference letters are required for any scholarship applications.
