The funding programme is open to students who have completed their undergraduate studies in India and are applying for the full-time LLM in Human Rights, Conflict and Justice at SOAS for the 2025/26 academic year. Applicants must hold a first-class or high second-class degree in Law or have relevant professional experience in human rights or criminal justice.

Beena Sondhi Scholarship in UK for Master Founded in 1836, University of London is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of London (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of London is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: over-45,000 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of London offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: India

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for the LLM in Human Rights, Conflict and Justice at SOAS, University of London. Only full-time, 1-year programmes starting in 2025/26 are eligible. Part-time and two-year courses are not eligible.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Have completed their undergraduate studies in India.

    • Be applying for new admission (2025/26 entry) to the eligible LLM programme.

    • Hold a first-class or high second-class degree (or equivalent) in Law (LLB or equivalent). Applicants with relevant professional experience may still be considered if their academic qualifications fall slightly below this.

    • Demonstrate a clear commitment to human rights and criminal law through academic, professional, or voluntary activities.

    • Show financial need and limited access to alternative funding.

    • Preference may be given to applicants from marginalised backgrounds, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, religious minorities, and others who have faced systemic educational barriers.

    • Work experience in human rights, legal aid, or public interest litigation is not mandatory but will be considered an asset.
