The Barbados Institute of Architects (BIA) is pleased to announce the University Student Scholarship for Architectural Studies. This initiative is designed to support Barbadian students with a strong academic foundation and a passion for architecture, offering them the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies at the Caribbean School of Architecture, University of Technology, Jamaica.
The scholarship is open to citizens of Barbados who have been accepted to, or are currently enrolled in, the Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies program at the University of Technology, Jamaica. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support of up to BDS $40,000, spread over the duration of the program, to deserving students.

Established in 1958, University of Technology, Jamaica is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Kingston (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Saint Andrew. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education, Jamaica, University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 8,000-8,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Application Process
Applicants must submit the following via email to by 15th August 2025:
Application letter with personal details (name, address, email, phone number)
One (1) passport-sized photograph
Two (2) letters of recommendation or names of two (2) references
Certified proof of Barbados citizenship (passport copy)
Proof of acceptance or enrolment in the program
A 1,000-word essay explaining why they should receive the scholarship
A portfolio (A4 or A3, maximum 10 pages of design projects, sketches, or drawings)
