There will be a total of six (6) selected winners who have made a substantial contribution to the implementation of the WPS and YPS agenda in their community, country. Candidates must demonstrate that they have contributed in remarkable ways through the realization of exceptional projects/activities in the following areas:

  • The prevention of sexual and gender-based violence as well as the protection of women and young people in conflict situations;
  • Processes of conflict prevention, transformation, resolution and consolidation of gender mainstreaming peace
  • Inclusive process of conflict prevention, conflict resolution and peace building peace;
    Strengthening and effective and meaningful inclusion of women and young people in the process of peace
  • Inclusive stabilization and peacebuilding, including reconciliation, natural resource management, economic recovery and improved livelihoods, reintegration of warring factions, etc.

AU 2022 Civil Society Organizations (Csos) Working on Youth, Women, Peace, and Security Agenda in Africa for Course Founded in 2010, South Asian University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of New Delhi (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants), NCT of Delhi. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, South Asian University (SAU) is a very small (uniRank enrollment range: 500-999 students) coeducational higher education institution. South Asian University (SAU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. The admission rate range is 90-100% making this Indian higher education organization a least selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants will be assessed based on specific criteria, including:

  • Impact: Through collaboration, leadership, or innovation, nominees have made an outstanding contribution with tangible results to advancing the WPS or JPS agenda. The selected winners have inspired others through their courage and commitment
  • Community: Nominees have been active at the community level, and their achievements have advanced peace and security efforts and decision-making processes.
  • The CSO must work in the field of youth/women and peace and security in Africa;
  • The CSO must be an African civil society organization;
  • CSO must be in operation for at least 3 years and be registered in one of the 55 states UA members
  • The CSO must provide evidence of its main achievements in implementing activities related to the WPS/YPS agendas;
  • The CSO shall not be investigated for fraud, corruption, sexual abuse, exploitation sexual or other wrongdoing;
  • The CSO must have sufficient capacity to collaborate with the African Union as well as various stakeholders

Required Documents:

  • Copy or certificate of registration, including proof of operation for the three years of registration.
  • Copy of Constitution/Charter or Statutes of your organisation.
  • Curriculum vitae of designated representative(s) of the organisation.
  • Provide financial reports for the past 3 years
  • Activity reports for the past 3 years in the area of Youth Peace and Security and/or Women Peace
