The Atomic Energy Scholarship (AES) Program of China (Phase 1) represents a collaborative effort between the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (MOE). This initiative aims to cultivate exceptional young professionals dedicated to advancing the peaceful application of nuclear energy, particularly hailing from developing nations.
The eligibility criteria for the Atomic Energy Scholarship (AES) Program are designed to identify promising candidates committed to the advancement of nuclear energy. Applicants from countries outside of China are eligible, provided they possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant disciplines such as nuclear engineering, energy, or physics. Established in 1958, University of Science and Technology of China is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Hefei (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Anhui. Offered Benefits
Scholarship recipients will receive coverage for tuition fees, accommodation, stipend, and comprehensive medical support. The duration of the scholarship varies depending on the degree pursued: 2-3 years for Master’s degree and 3-4 years for Doctoral degree.
The selection process involves assessment by the university applied for, followed by evaluation from the China Atomic Energy Authority, the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and the China Scholarship Council. Successful applicants will be notified by email before July 31st of the admission year.

- Submit the application through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System, selecting “Type B” scholarship and indicating University of Science and Technology of China as the preference institute.
