Since January 2022, Ashesi University in Ghana and ETH Zurich have been offering a joint Master’s programme in Mechatronic Engineering. 40 students from 7 African countries are currently studying at Ashesi University. A third cohort has been selected and will start their studies in 2024. The programme is delivered in block courses developed and taught in tandem by faculty from both universities.
The programme is founded on a strong partnership between Ashesi University, ETH Zurich, industry and supporting partners. This collaboration is maintained through regular visits and exchanges.
Founded in 2002, Ashesi University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the rural setting of the village of Berekuso (population range of under 2,500 inhabitants), Eastern Region. Ashesi University (AU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. This 17 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 10-20% making this Ghanaian higher education organization a most selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.
