To train a new generation of researchers and leaders to build new capabilities for agriculture, the University of Adelaide has emerged with yet another opportunity. It has launched the ARC Training Centre for Future Crops Development PhD Scholarships in Expressions of Interest for the academic year 2022-2023.

All interested home country national students and overseas students can participate given that they enrol in a PhD study programme at the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology of the University of Adelaide. An educational fund can be expected as a reward.

ARC Training Centre for Future Crops Development PhD Scholarships in Expressions of Interest Founded in 1874, The University of Adelaide is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Adelaide (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), South Australia. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education and Training, Australia, The University of Adelaide (UofA) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Adelaide (UofA) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All international, Australian and New Zealand students are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply to undertake a PhD programme in Sciences, Engineering and Technology (SET) at the University of Adelaide.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have submitted an Expression of Interest.
  • The applicants must be future PhD students.

Offered Benefits

The University of Adelaide will provide the selected candidate’s scholarship benefits towards the cost of education of the PhD programme undertaken by them.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Students must apply for admission via the university portal. The scholarship application must be submitted separately.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Expression of Interest
  • Evidence of Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or Australian permanent resident status (if applicable)
  • Degree certificates (testamurs)
  • Academic transcripts
  • Translations of non-English documentation
  • Evidence of English language proficiency
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must have a relevant University of Adelaide bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), with a minimum distinction average, a relevant University of Adelaide Honours degree (or equivalent), with at least a second-class Honours (upper division), a postgraduate coursework degree which contains a significant research component and meets the minimum GPA requirements or a relevant University of Adelaide Master of Philosophy (or equivalent).
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Academic
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Internet-Based Test
  • PTE (Pearson Test of English) Academic
  • C1 Advanced (formerly CAE – Cambridge English: Advanced)
