The aim of this bursary is to provide financial assistance to international students who want to complete their  PhD degree programme in Comparative Constitutional Law & Democratic Resilience.

ARC Future Fellowships International PhD Comparative Constitutional Law, Australia Established in 1949, The University of New South Wales is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large city of Sydney (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), New South Wales. The University of New South Wales (UNSW) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries:  All nationalities.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD programmes offered by the Faculty of  Law  & Justice at UNSW are eligible to apply for.
  • Eligibility Criteria:  To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Students currently enrolled in or holding an offer to commence a full-time PhD in the UNSW Faculty of Law & Justice in 2022 may apply, provided that, by the application deadline, they shall have been enrolled for no longer than twelve months and they are not already holding or have been offered a scholarship for study at UNSW.
  • The Scholarship is for study on a full-time basis only, unless there are exceptional personal or medical circumstances that would require study on a part-time basis for all or part of the PhD program.
  • Applicants may be Australian citizens, permanent residents or international.

Offered Benefits

The lucky selected applicants will receive a scholarship stipend will be equivalent to the value of a Research Training Program Scholarship (for 2022, this rate is $28,854 p.a.), plus Faculty top-up ($5,000 p.a.).  These scholarships generally receive favourable tax treatment and entitle candidates to apply for a fee waiver.

Application Process

  • How to Apply:  The applicants must apply for the PhD program through the university’s  online portal . The applicants can apply through application process for the scholarship and submit it via mail at  .
  • Supporting Documents:  Applicants should attach copies of ALL academic transcripts, relevant publications, a CV, a cover letter addressing the selection criteria and outlining interest in comparative constitutional studies, and a 3-5 page research proposal.
  • Details for two academic or professional referees must be provided (referees will be contacted only if an applicant is being considered for shortlisting).
  • Admission Requirements:  Students are required to score an average that equates to a minimum Distinction average at UNSW, i.e., 75%, to secure a position at UNSW.
  • Language Requirement : The applicants are required to attain a 6.5 overall score on the IELTS test.
