The Heather Scholarship for Law School Students is an Initiative of Isaiah Bozimo, SAN, in the name of his late sister, to support aspiring lawyers in Nigeria who are facing financial barriers to attending Nigerian law school. 

This scholarship will allow the successful candidate to pursue their legal education despite these obstacles.The number of sponsored students will increase yearly, starting with one student this year, two next year, and so on.

Requirements for Heather Scholarship Graduate Scholarship

  • Academic Performance: Applicants must have graduated with at least a Second Class Upper (2:1) in Law from a Nigerian university. Graduates with a strong. Second-Class Lower (2:2) may apply only if they have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 and can provide evidence of significant leadership skills or community involvement
  • Financial Constraints: Applicants must have missed entry into the Nigerian Law School due to financial constraints. In other words, the student must have been shortlisted by their university for admission into the Law School but could not attend due to financial limitations.

Application Documents

  • Proof of academic performance, such as a degree certificate or transcript.
  • Evidence of financial hardship, which could be an affidavit deposed before a Notary or Commissioner for Oaths explaining your financial situation.
  • A personal essay. In 1,500 words, narrate your life, background, and the experiences that have led you to pursue law. Share your challenges, your motivations, and why attending the Nigerian Law School is important to you.
  • For those applying with a 2:2, please also provide evidence of leadership or community involvement. This can include: A letter of recommendation from a supervisor, community leader, or professor.
  • Certificates, documents, or other materials highlighting your leadership roles or community projects

How to Apply

  • Candidates who advance to the later stages of the selection process may be required to provide evidence that they were shortlisted for admission to the Nigerian Law School
  • Providing this evidence with your application is optional but would be beneficial
  • Please email your application and all required documents to  by 31 December 2024.
  • Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a follow-up interview to discuss their application further.
  • The selected. student will be announced by 17 January 2024.
