ANU Rural and Regional Equity Scholarship for Bachelor Established in 1946, Australian National University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Canberra (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Australian Capital Territory. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education and Training, Australia, Australian National University (ANU) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Australian National University (ANU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 73 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be awarded in any Undergraduate degree subject offered by the university.
Admissible Criteria: The award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who:

  • Domestic students are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be enrolling in the first year of any undergraduate program at ANU;
  • Candidates have met the minimum ATAR requirements for admission into the selected undergraduate program;
  • Students must be currently living in a rural, regional or remote area and completed the majority of their secondary studies in a rural, regional or remote area. Scholarship applicants can check the rural, regional and remote classification of their address at DoctorConnect.

Benefits: The scholarship provides a stipend of $5000 paid in equal installments at the beginning of each semester for the first year of the student’s undergraduate program.
