International students planning to study Theology at the University of Birmingham can now apply for the Amphlett Scholarships, providing up to full tuition fee support for the 2026 academic year.

To be eligible for the Amphlett Scholarship, applicants must be international students from selected Asian countries who are ordinarily resident outside the EEA and have applied for an eligible Master’s (taught) program in Theology at the University of Birmingham.

Amphlett Scholarships at University of Birmingham, UK for Master Founded in 1900, University of Birmingham is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Birmingham (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), West Midlands. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Birmingham is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Birmingham offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Applicants must be nationals of, and ordinarily resident outside the EEA in, one of the following countries:
    China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship is available for students admitted to:
  • MA Theology and Religion

  • MA Religion, Politics and Society

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Hold an offer to study an eligible Master’s (taught) Theology program at the University of Birmingham

  • Be commencing their studies in the 2026 academic year

  • Be a new Master’s student (current Master’s students are not eligible)

  • Intend to return to their country of ordinary residence after completing their studies

  • Not hold this award alongside any other scholarship (including partnership scholarships)

  • Submit a complete funding application with two references by the deadline

Application Process

  1. Submit an application to study an eligible Master’s program at the University of Birmingham

  2. Complete the online funding application form

  3. Arrange for two referees to submit references via the official online funding reference form

  4. Ensure all components (study application, funding form, and references) are submitted by
    Wednesday, 25 March 2026 at 12:00 noon (GMT)

  • Incomplete or late applications, including missing or late references, will not be considered.
