The Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) invites aspiring young scientists worldwide to apply for the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents 2024.
Established in 2018, ANSO is a non-profit, non-governmental international organization comprising 37 scientific institutions, universities, and international organizations globally.
A special category, the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO Ph.D. Scholarship, was introduced in 2022, prioritizing candidates from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and women.
The China Academy of Sciences (CAS) primarily sponsors this scholarship, with additional funding from TWAS and UNESCO for ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO Ph.D. Scholarship awardees.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Not hold Chinese citizenship
- Proficiency in English or Chinese
- For Master’s program applicants: Born after 1st January 1994 (inclusive)
- For Ph.D. program applicants: Born after 1st January 1989 (inclusive)
- Meet the admission criteria for international students of USTC/UCAS
- Not undertake other assignments during the scholarship period
- Not currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in China
Offered Benefits
The following details outline the specific funding and benefits offered:

Tuition Coverage:
- For ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO Ph.D. Scholarship awardees, tuition expenses, including registration fees and other related costs (items 1 to 4), are covered by the China Academy of Sciences (CAS).
- For other ANSO Scholarship awardees, CAS covers all tuition-related expenses, ensuring that scholars can pursue their postgraduate education without financial constraints.

Living Allowance:
- All awardees, regardless of the specific category, receive a living allowance to cover daily expenses, accommodation, and other miscellaneous costs.
- The living allowance is a crucial aspect of the scholarship, providing financial support for scholars throughout their academic journey.

Travel Subsidy Exclusion:
- It’s important to note that any scholarship awardee present in China, the host country, at the time of application is not eligible for any travel subsidy.
- ANSO emphasizes fairness and transparency in the allocation of resources, and this exclusion is in line with those principles.

Training and Research Support:
- Beyond financial assistance, the scholarship includes centralized training in Chinese language and culture, ensuring that scholars can adapt seamlessly to their academic environment.
- Practical research and completion of degree theses are also supported, enhancing the overall educational experience.

2. Application Portal
- File and submit your application in the USTC/UCAS admission system as requested before the deadline.
When applying:
•Firstly, choose “the CAS-ANSO Scholarship” in your application.
•Secondly, if you want to be considered a potential candidate for the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship, check the box as instructed in the application system.
