African Institute for Mathematical Sciences(AIMS) is now accepting applications for AIMS Co-operative master’s degree scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year. Scholarships are available for pursuing master’s degree programme offered for the duration of 18 months.
AIMS’ curriculum focuses on advanced, broadly applicable mathematical skills relevant to Africa’s development needs.
African Institute for Mathematical Sciences mission is to enable Africa’s brightest students to flourish as independent thinkers, problem solvers and innovators capable of propelling Africa’s future scientific, educational and economic self-sufficiency.
There is no need for GRE, TOEFL of other related language tests to be eligible for the AIMS Scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, the student must demonstrate the following:
- Applicants should hold or anticipate completing by the start date of the AIMS course, a 4-year university degree in mathematics, or any science or engineering subject with a significant mathematics component.
- An applicant’s record should demonstrate strong aptitude in mathematics, leadership and community service
- Women applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
Offered Benefits
There is no course fees for successful Master’s Degree applicants. Full bursaries covering tuition, accommodation, meals and travel costs are also awarded to successful applicants.
