AHRC/CHASE Collaborative Doctoral Scholarships in Music, UK for PhD Founded in 1965, University of Kent is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Canterbury (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England.   • Acceptable Course or Subjects: PhD degree in the field of Music
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must have to meet the following criteria:
  • Applicants should have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) and a relevant Master’s degree, with at least one of these being in the discipline of Music; knowledge of the contemporary UK jazz scene; an interest in social and applied psychology (with relation to musical experience and identity); gender studies; excellent communication skills.

Offered Benefits

The studentship programme will cover home or EU fees and stipend at UKRI rates for a maximum of four years full-time or eight years part-time study, subject to institutional regulations.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: The candidates are advised to take admission in a  PhD degree program at the university. After being enrolled, the participants will complete the online application form for this grant.
  • Supporting Documents: You will need to provide personal details, education and employment history, and supporting documents such as curriculum vitae, transcripts of results, and two academic references.
  • Admission Requirements: For being admitted, you need to meet  entry requirements for each qualification you plan to study.
  • Language Requirement: The candidates should be very proficient in the English language requirements.
