Aga Khan University (AKU) 2023 Medical Fellowship for African Medical Practitioners for Master Founded in 1992, Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi (Afyon Kocatepe University) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Afyon (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Afyonkarahisar. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the YÖK - Yüksekögretim Kurulu (YÖK - Council of Higher Education), Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi (AKU) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 40,000-44,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi (AKU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. The admission rate range is 0-10% making this Turkish higher education organization a most selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

The basic criterion for entry into any fellowship programme is the completion of a full residency training programme (Masters degree in medicine or equivalent postgraduate course) in the parent specialty.  Other requirements include Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) or equivalent; Registration by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (or other recognised medical board) and at least 4 years post internship experience.

Offered Benefits

This follows recognised formats developed within the University. The level of responsibility is graduated as the fellow progresses from the first year to the final year. Fellows take on greater responsibilities than residents, contribute to the teaching of medical students and residents and perform many more procedures independently under the supervision of the consultants.?
