The Australian Catholic University (ACU), in collaboration with the Vietnam Government’s Project 89, is offering PhD Scholarships to high-achieving Vietnamese scholars. This program aims to strengthen Vietnam’s academic and research capacity by supporting future leaders in higher education. Successful candidates will receive tuition fee support, living stipends, airfare, and health insurance while pursuing doctoral studies at ACU in Australia.
    Applicants must be citizens of Vietnam who are nominated for the Vietnam Government’s Project 89 scholarship and have received an offer for a PhD program at Australian Catholic University (ACU). They must commence full-time enrolment as onshore international students at ACU, with the option for external mode (in-country training) if applicable.

        Offered Benefits
        Vietnam Government (Project 89) Contribution:
- Tuition fee support up to USD $25,000 per year (up to 4 years). 
- Living stipend of USD $1,120 per month. 
- International return airfare. 
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) up to USD $1,000 per year. 
  ACU Contribution:
- Tuition Fee Top-Up: Covers the difference between Project 89 funding and the full ACU PhD tuition fee. 
- Living Allowance Top-Up: Supplementary stipend up to the current ACU/Research Training Program (RTP) rate. 
 
    
        Application Process
          Step 1: Apply to ACU for a PhD program and obtain a Letter of Offer (LoA). Applications are open year-round.
- Submit all required documentation as per ACU’s graduate research application process. 
- Indicate clearly in your application that you are applying for the ACU and Vietnam Government PhD Scholarship (Project 89).
