The University of Queensland offers several scholarships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students experiencing financial hardship. These scholarships are known as the Educational Coast Scholarships and are worth up to $5,000 each.
There are several scholarships available, and they are open to both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and enroll in an eligible course at the University of Queensland to be eligible. Eligibility Criteria
The Scholarship was established in 2020 to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students succeed in their studies at UQ and to increase the representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in higher education. The Scholarship is supported by fundraising initiatives and donations from donors and is open to further contributions. Through this scholarship, we hope to encourage more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to pursue higher education and reach their full potential.
Application Process
To apply, visit the online application portal and submit a personal statement of no more than 800 words. You may need to upload supporting documentation, such as financial statements, residency verification, or evidence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status. Successful applicants will demonstrate academic achievement and leadership, and community service experience.
