AbbVie Immunology funding for Students Living with Crohn’s Disease

AbbVie is offering the AbbVie Immunology funding for the 2020-2021 academic year, administered by Scholarship America.

The award is designed to provide financial support to exceptional students living with inflammatory diseases as AS, CD, HS, JIA, Ps, PsA, RA, UC, or UV, including ulcerative colitis.

The program is open for students who are living with Crohn’s disease and seeking an associate’s, undergraduate, and graduate degree or doctorate from an accredited United States (US) university or college.

AbbVie aims to empower students with the program to pursue an independent life defined by bold decisions and unyielding determination.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet all the given criteria:

  • A United States citizen, or a legal and permanent resident of the United States
  • Diagnosed with inflammatory diseases, including Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, by a healthcare professional
  • Enrolling in or currently attending an accredited US institution (e.g., college, university, or trade/vocational school) for education during the upcoming 2020-2021 academic year.
  • Applicants must have completed high school or obtained a General Education Development (GED) certificate before the end of June 2020.
  • Students are eligible who diagnosed with Crohn’s disease (CD), ulcerative colitis (UC), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), uveitis (UV), hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) or psoriasis (Ps).
  • Eligibility restricted to patients diagnosed with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.

Offered Benefits

The program will provide up to $15,000 to each winning candidates that dependent upon the type of degree pursued.

  • Associate degree: $5,000
  • Bachelor degree: $15,000
  • Masters/PhD: $15,000

Application Deadline: Thursday, December 5, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. CT. All applicants will be notified of their status by January 20, 2020.
