2026 Burman University Orchestral Scholarship at Burman University for Bachelor Founded in 1907, Burman University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the medium-sized town of Lacombe (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Alberta. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Alberta, Burman University (BU) is a very small (uniRank enrollment range: 250-499 students) coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Adventist religion. Burman University (BU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. Offered Benefits

  • Scholarships are awarded 50% each term. So an $8,000 scholarship would be awarded with $4,000 in the Fall, and $4,000 in the Winter semester.

Application Process

  • Submit a video recording of yourself playing one of the approved pieces using an orchestral instrument. Your submission will be adjudicated by the professors of the Burman University Music Department who will then select the winner of the scholarship.

  • Other orchestral pieces may be accepted with the discretion of the Burman Music Department.
  • Your chosen instrument must be one of the following:
    • Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, or Double Bass.
    • Woodwinds: Flute, Oboe (or English Horn), Clarinet, or Bassoon
    • Brass: French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, or tuba
    • Percussion: Marimba or Timpani
