The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) invite qualified Africans to apply for the 2026 SHOU Scholarship Programmes, which aim to strengthen Africa’s capacity in sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, marine science and resource management, in line with the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy (2024–2033).
SHOU is a globally recognised, research-oriented university specialising in marine and aquatic sciences.
Programmes offered include Master’s and PhD degrees in areas such as Aquaculture, Marine Science, Fisheries, Food Science, Engineering, and Applied/Fishery Economics, as well as a 3-week Summer School programme in marine cultivation and fisheries.
The programme combines lectures, laboratory training, research discussions, and field visits. Participants gain practical skills and knowledge of modern aquaculture systems, environmental sampling, hatchery operations, and cross-cultural teamwork.
