The Wilson and Yinka Badejo Foundation Educational Assistance Programme offers scholarships every year to brilliant indigent students who are pursuing their dream of completing their higher education.

The Wilson and Yinka Badejo Scholarship have provided over 500+ scholarships to students from poor backgrounds since the inception of this programme in 2008.

The scholarship is targeted towards academically sound students planning to attend (or already attending) a public tertiary institution and students must fulfil all eligibility requirements before their application can be considered by the scholarship board of the Wilson & Yinka Badejo Foundation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Demonstrated financial need: Applicants must come from a less privileged background, as evidenced by providing a short personal statement on background.
  • Academic & Personal excellence: Applicants must have a strong academic record and also possess demonstrated good character that can be readily verified.
  • Enrollment status: Applicants must be enrolled or accepted to an accredited public tertiary institution (Note: Students in private tertiary institutions are not eligible).
  • Previous beneficiaries: Individuals who have received at least two scholarships from our foundation in the past are not eligible to reapply to ensure fairness and equal opportunity.
  • Multiple Applications: Applicants may apply for both the Legacy and the Nurturing Hearts scholarships. However, if selected, the applicant can receive only one scholarship award.

The Legacy scholarship is the existing student scholarship which the foundation has offered since 2008. It is designed to provide financial support and assistance to brilliant indigent students pursuing a higher education degree at any public tertiary institution (i.e. Universities, Polytechnics, or Colleges of Education).
