The Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) offers the KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship to undergraduate international students.
KAIST international Scholarships are very competitive and once a student is selected by KAIST, his/her tuition fee is waived off and he/she will get scholarship based on KAIST policies.
KAIST welcomes applications from all over the world. Eligible international undergraduate applicants wishing to study at KAIST are invited to apply for the KAIST International Student Scholarship as they apply for their course. You can choose to apply either for SPRING semester or Fall semester.
KAIST Information
Founded in 1971, KAIST is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Daejeon (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education, Korea, KAIST is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 7,000-7,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. KAIST offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria
International candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
Spring Semester, 2025 (Early only)
- Candidates who have graduated or will graduate from his or her high school by February 28th, 2025.
Fall Semester, 2025 (Early / Regular)
- Candidates who have graduated or will graduate from his or her high school by August 31st, 2025.
Applicants with foreign citizenship
We do not have transfer program for international students. You have to apply as a freshman student.
By the time of your enrollment at KAIST, you must not be holding any degree-seeking status from other universities otherwise your admission shall be revoked.
- Applicants who hold Korean Citizenship(dual citizenship) are not eligible to apply as foreign students
- International applicants MUST ADDITIONALLY satisfy one of the following two requirements:
- Neither of the applicant’s parents is a Korean citizen, or
- For applicants of Korean Origin, he/she must have received his/her entire elementary, junior high, and high school education outside of Korea at a comparable and equivalent level of that provided in Korea.
- Note that international schools located in Korea are NOT acknowledged as foreign schools.
- Applicants who completed or will have completed high school in Korea are also welcomed to apply to KAIST Undergraduate program.
