Our 2022 Commencing Offshore Student Scholarship provides commencing international students studying overseas with a 20% reduction in tuition fees while they are unable to travel to Australia for study due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

University of Tasmania Commencing Offshore Student Scholarship, Austarlia Founded in 1890, University of Tasmania is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Hobart (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Tasmania. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education and Training, Australia, University of Tasmania (UTAS) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Tasmania (UTAS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 129 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 70-80% making this Australian higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

International students must be studying one of the following Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) registered coursework programs for the first time:
  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Bachelor’s Degree with Honours;
  • Postgraduate Coursework degree with a duration of no less than one year including any Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma that are part of a packaged offer leading to a Masters by Coursework program


Offer letters will notify applicants if they have been awarded the scholarship. Please note that this scholarship is only available to commencing students in 2022.

Application Process

Students are assessed automatically upon submission of their International Student Application so there is no need to apply separately.
