100 South Asia Excellence Scholarships at University of Newcastle, Australia Founded in 1965, The University of Newcastle is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Callaghan (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), New South Wales. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Ourimbah, Port Macquarie, Singapore, Sydney. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education and Training, Australia, The University of Newcastle (UoN) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Newcastle (UoN) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Students from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Honors’) (Diagnostic Radiography), Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Honors) (Nuclear Medicine), Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Honors’) (Radiation Therapy), Bachelor of Medical Science, and Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honors), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honors’), Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy, Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honors’), Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honors), Bachelor of Podiatry.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the given criteria:
  • Hold a passport from an eligible South Asia country: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
  • Be commencing study in an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program at the University (excluding ELICOS, Enabling, Non-Award, and Higher Degrees by Research programs and programs delivered at offshore campuses).
  • Be an International full-fee paying student.
  • The applicants must be commencing in an eligible program at an Australian or Online campus as indicated in your Letter of Offer.
  • Meet all of the financial obligations of a full-fee paying international student, including the full tuition fee and other expenses to obtain your student visa, and if eligibility for the scholarship is not maintained.

Offered Benefits

The scholarship is valued at AU$10,000 for each year of study under full-time study load, apportioned over each course taken (pro-rata with an approved load reduction on program plan, credits exemptions, progression, or wellbeing grounds).

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Students must have to take  admission at the University. Scholarships will be automatically awarded to students who have received an offer to study in an eligible, non-quota program.

  • Passport biometric page
  • For programs requiring work experience, a curriculum vitae (CV)/resume and/or letters of work experience are recommended.
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet the University’s entry requirements.
  • Language Requirement: Students must have to fulfill the  University’s language requirements.
