Valued at $5,000, this scholarship supports South Australian students commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate initial teacher education program in 2026. Aimed at fostering diversity and academic excellence in teaching, 35 scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents, or permanent humanitarian visa holders commencing their first year of an eligible teacher education course at Flinders University. They must have a permanent home address in South Australia and meet one of the specific applicant streams high academic achievement, First Nations background, women in STEM education, or men in primary teaching.

Enabling Educator Excellence (E3) Scholarships, Australia Established in 1966, Flinders University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large city of Adelaide (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), South Australia.   • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for eligible teacher registration programs accredited by the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia, including:
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Birth – 8)

  • Bachelor of Education (Primary)

  • Bachelor of Education (Secondary Health and Physical Education)

  • Bachelor of Education (Secondary)

  • Bachelor of Education (Inclusive Education)

  • Master of Teaching (Early Childhood)

  • Master of Teaching (Primary)

  • Master of Teaching (Secondary)

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or permanent humanitarian visa holder.

  • Be commencing the first year of an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Flinders University.

  • Have a permanent home address in South Australia.

  • Not have previously received this scholarship.

  • Meet one of the following applicant streams:

    • High academic achievement (ATAR 80+ including bonus points or GPA 5.5+)

    • Identify as First Nations (Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander)

    • Women in STEM (enrolled in a major/minor enabling them to teach STEM)

    • Men in primary school teaching programs.

Offered Benefits

  • Each successful applicant will receive $5,000 for one year of full-time study.

  • The payment will be made in two equal instalments.

  • A total of 35 scholarships will be awarded annually to support talented and diverse future educators across South Australia.

Application Process

Applications can be submitted through Flinders University’s online scholarship portal. Applicants must provide evidence of academic merit and proof of eligibility within one of the specified applicant streams. Selection will be based on academic excellence, with preference given to full-time students.
