CNIB Master’s Scholarships 2025

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must:

1. Have vision loss:

   • Be blind, Deafblind, or have low vision (defined as best corrected visual acuity of 20/70 or worse and/or a visual field of 20 degrees or narrower).

2. Be pursuing a Master's degree:

   • You must already be a university graduate and currently enrolled in or accepted to a Master's program.

3. Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident:

   • You must be a Canadian citizen or have held landed immigrant (permanent resident) status for at least one year prior to applying.

4. Demonstrate strong personal qualities, including:

   • Motivation and independence

   • High personal achievement

   • High academic standing

   • Superior intellectual ability and sound judgment

5. Plan to study at a university:

   • You must be studying at a Canadian university, or a foreign university with a commitment to return to Canada.

   • Note: Preference is given to students conducting theoretical and practical research at a Canadian university.

Offered Benefits

CNIB Master's Scholarship – Multiple Scholarships

Awards are given out annually to qualified applicants pursuing a master's degree.

OSR Clinics Psychology Scholarship – 2 at $3,000 each

Application Process

Applicants must complete and submit  an application form, along with:

• Proof of secondary education completion (interim).
• One reference letter (academic or community source). All reference letters should be on official letterhead, professional letter format and in an accessible format.
• Letter of acceptance from an accredited post-secondary institution, college or university.
• Transcript (interim).
• A short essay (two pages max) detailing how a CNIB scholarship will change what it means to be blind for you in your education.
• List of other sources of funding.
