Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply:

  • A Class Member of the court cases Manuge v. Her Majesty the Queen or Toth v. Her Majesty the Queen.

  • OR a spouse, child, grandchild, niece, nephew, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law selected by a Class Member.

  • Children/grandchildren/nieces/nephews can be biological, adopted, stepchildren, common-law children, or legal wards.

  • If the Class Member is deceased, their estate’s official representative can designate someone.

Education Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled (currently or in the last 5 academic years: 2019–2024) in a post-secondary program (college, university, vocational/technical school, etc.).

  • Program can be part-time or full-time, and online or in-person.

  • No restrictions on the field of study.

  • Program must meet basic duration and time commitment criteria set by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Offered Benefits

  • $2,500 CAD bursary.

  • Past recipients of the $1,300 version may apply to receive an extra $1,200.
