Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, the doctoral research project must relate to a subject directly linked to governance, such as:

• The importance of effective advice to promote good decision-making and better functioning of Canadian organizations;
• Governance issues of particular interest to Canadian boards of public and private companies, government organizations and not-for-profit organizations
• The role of organizational governance in achieving positive impacts on society
• Best practices in governance from a Canadian perspective

Here are some examples of suitable topics, but this is by no means an exhaustive list:

• Definition of the goal
• Stakeholder mobilization and the Board of Directors
• Corporate Culture Monitoring and the Board of Directors
• Equity and Inclusion and the Board of Directors
• Climate Change and the Board of Directors
• Renewal of Board Members/Term Limits
• Role of the President of the Board
• CEO Expectations
• Relationship between the board and the CEO
• Training and mobilization of administrators

Offered Benefits

Several $20,000 scholarships will be awarded to applicants who meet the specified requirements.
