The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) is a transformative initiative by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu that places the highest priority on the development and grooming of young, change-oriented individuals who are passionate about shaping the future of Nigeria.

At its core, the Academy is driven by a mission to cultivate a new generation of visionary leaders who are not only equipped with technical knowledge but also deeply imbued with values of integrity, innovation, and public service. LJLA seeks to empower these young individuals to become catalysts for positive change by providing them with a nurturing environment where their leadership potential can be fully realised.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be Nigerian citizens
  • Possess a minimum of three years of work experience
  • Be under the age of 35
  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree
  • Have completed the NYSC program or possess an exemption letter

Offered Benefits

  • Work experience: Fellows will shadow Lagos State Cabinet members on a rotational basis after six months.
  • Leadership development: Participants will engage in a series of enriching activities such as the Brown-Bag Series, Fireside Chat, and Personalized Coaching.
  • Community service: Fellows will undertake high-impact leadership projects aimed at transforming communities.
  • Fellowship network: A strong alumni network will provide ongoing support and learning opportunities, fostering unity and social consciousness.
