Park Scholar Award is a merit-based program open to outstanding high school seniors who wish to apply for an  undergraduate major at Ithaca College within the Roy H. Park School of Communications.

Founded by William Egbert in 1892, Ithaca College offers a curriculum with more than 100-degree programs in its five schools. It is a private liberal arts college in New York, USA.

Park Scholar Program at Ithaca College in New York, USA Established in 1892, Ithaca College is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the medium-sized town of Ithaca (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), New York. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Ithaca College (IC) is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 6,000-6,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Ithaca College (IC) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 127 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 60-70% making this US higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Applications are accepted from U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The grant will be awarded for undergraduate major
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following:
  • Candidate must be an outstanding high school senior
  • Students must have passion for the field of communications, community service and who thrive on the academic and personal challenge
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen according to federal guidelines, and apply to Ithaca College for an  undergraduate major within the Roy H. Park School of Communications
  • Transfer students are not eligible for the award
  • Applicants must maintain strong engagement in significant and meaningful community service
  • Should participate in Park Scholar academic programming and enrichment activities
  • Should be a model citizen and maintain good judicial standing

Offered Benefits

  • The program offers full-tuition grants that include living expenses, and books and technology stipend.
  • Each year, a limited number of opportunities are awarded. The number varies from year to year.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Applicants need to submit the common application online for Ithaca College
  • Supporting Documents: Application must submit a personal history, two essays, and a list of volunteer, leadership and employment activities with the online application.
  • Admission Requirements: Upon entering the program, you are expected to stay enrolled as a full-time student with a 3.500 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in one of the undergraduate degree programs at the Roy H. Park School of Communications
  • Language Requirement: Applicants must have proficiency in the English language (writing, speaking, learning)
