To be awarded to a student who is enrolled in Level 2 of an Honours Economics program who, in the judgment of the Department of Economics, has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and an interest in the study of ethics. Tenable in Level 4 provided that the recipient maintains a Grade Point Average of 8.0 or greater.

McMaster University Philip F Connell Scholarship 2025 for Bachelor Established in 1887, McMaster University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Hamilton (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Ontario. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, Ontario, McMaster University (Mac) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. McMaster University (Mac) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 132 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be academic level 2.
  • Applicant must be an undergraduate.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in an Honours or Honours Co-op program.
  • This award is specific to students in an Honours Economics program.
  • This award is not second degree eligible.
  • Applicant must have read, understood and agreed to the Student Declaration.
  • Applicant must be enrolled.
  • Applicant must be a current student.
  • Applicant must have a minimum 8.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Applicant must have a minimum 18 graded units.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of 3 sessional graded units
  • Applicant must be eligible for in-course awards (Graduating students are not eligible).


Offered Benefits

Typically Available: 1 x $20,000 ($10,000 per year) for the recipient of the award
