This program encourages participation from students who intend to gain substantive work experience. International and US national candidates can both participate in this fellowship program, conditioned on them being graduating seniors or pastgraduate with a significant amount of coursework related to their discipline of interest. The fellows will be appointed on full-time bases of 10-12 months with a salary of $45,000.

  • Eligibility Criteria:  To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be graduating seniors or students who have graduated during the last academic year.

The University of Washington will award the selected candidates this fellowship which will allow them to work as paid full-time research assistants to conduct research for books, co-author journal articles and policy papers, participate in meetings with high-level officials, contribute to congressional testimony and organize briefings attended by scholars, journalists and government officials, for 10-12 months.

  • Language Requirement:  The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • TOEFL IBT – 76
  • IELTS – 6.0
  • DET – 105
