The University Scholarship will offer full fees support and maintenance award to international doctoral students of the highest caliber.  Applicants may be from any discipline at Warwick, and be from any nationality.

University of Warwick 2023-2024 Full PhD Scholarships for International Students – UK for Master Founded in 1965, The University of Warwick is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Coventry (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), West Midlands. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, The University of Warwick is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Warwick offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 54 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants for a Chancellor’s International Scholarship must also be applying for a PhD at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2023;
  • Students currently enrolled on a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the University of Warwick may apply in their first year of registration only;
  • Applicants must expect to be ‘overseas’ students for fees purposes, but there is no other nationality criteria;
  • Applicants may be from any discipline at Warwick.

Selection Criteria: Candidates must have outstanding academic performance from previous education qualifications.

Offered Benefits

Awards made for entry in Autumn 2023 will include the following:

  • The full payment of tuition fees
  • A maintenance stipend paid  at the prevailing UKRI rate for 3.5 years
    • If you are already in your first year of study when you apply then the length of funding will be reduced accordingly.
  • A Research, Training and Supporting Grant (RTSG) of £5,000.

Application Process

We strongly advise preparing applications well in advance, noting that it is not usually possible to complete and submit an application in less than 36 hours.

  1. Read the  Applicant Guidance Notes and PGR Ranking Criteria 
  2. Submit your course application and upload supporting documents.
  3. Receive an automated e-mail with a 7 digit applicant ID number. Please allow at least 48 hours for this to arrive.
  4. Register your ITS applicant account.
  5. Submit your scholarship application by the application deadline. We regret being unable to accept late applications for any reason.
  6. Submit supporting documents by the supporting document deadline. We regret being unable to accept late supporting documents for any reason.
  7. Results of the Chancellor's International Scholarship will be communicated by email by the start of March 2023.
