AISES Intel Growing The Legacy Scholarship Program in the USA for Bachelor

Eligibility Criteria

• Eligible Countries: the United States
• Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for an undergraduate or graduate degree in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields as the following:
• Applied Mechanics Engineering,
• Chemical Engineering,
• Chemistry,
• Electrical & Computer Engineering,
• Electrical Engineering,
• Electronics Engineering,
• Industrial Engineering,
• Material Science,
• Mathematics,
• Mechanical Engineering,
• Nanotechnology,
• Optical Engineering, and
• Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
• Native American students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
• Students must be U.S. citizens, enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university, and be pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree.
• Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
• Applicants must be an enrolled citizen or a descendant of an enrolled citizen of a federal or state-recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native Village; or Native Hawaiian or descendant from a Native Hawaiian; or a Pacific Islander or descendant from a Pacific Islander; or an Indigenous person of Canada.
• Applicants may also, instead, provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card.
• Note, AISES may not always have scholarships available for non-citizens of the United States.
• All scholarships require that applicants be current AISES members at the time of application. All applicants will be required to enter a valid AISES membership number. To get a membership number join AISESor and retrieve your membership number through AISES Membership Portal.

Offered Benefits

Awardees are encouraged to re-apply each year. The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) will provide all the following:

• $10,000 per academic year for Graduate students (Masters and Doctoral students)
• $5,000 per academic year for Undergraduate students (College sophomores, juniors, and seniors)
• $5,000 per academic year for Native Next Generation students (College freshmen)

Application Process

• How to Apply: All AISES scholarship applications have three stages.
• Stage 1: Applicant Profile
• All students must complete a Profile in the OASIS scholarship platform. For the 23-24 years, AISES has switched to a new scholarship platform, so all applicants must create a new account and complete a new profile.
• Stage 2: Scholarship Applications
• To apply for an eligible scholarship, students must answer the required questions and submit all requested documents.
• Stage 3: Post Acceptance
• After the finalists have been selected, the Finalists will move into post-acceptance where they will be required to submit additional documents for final verification:
• Academic Institution Enrollment Verification
• Online Scholarship Agreement
• Recent Photo/Headshot
• A thank you letter to the scholarship donor
• A signed AISES direct deposit form with accompanying bank information
• Supporting Documents: Applicants must submit the required documents:
• Resume
• Transcript(s)
• Tribal Citizenship/Indigenous Native Verification
• Letters of Recommendation
• Essays: Students are required to submit 5 essays, up to 300 words each.
• Admission Requirements: AISES requires its applicants to maintain a GPA of 3.0.
• Language Requirement: English language skills are required.
