This scholarship is an endowed gift to INSEAD from the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (Sylff). The Fund was established in 1987 by the Nippon Foundation in cooperation with the Sasakawa Peace Foundation. In its initial phase, the Sylff programme demonstrated its commitment to education through awarding fellowships to promising graduate students in the social sciences and humanities. Nearly 69 universities and consortia worldwide have received endowments of US $1 million (INSEAD included). In its second phase the Sylff programme is now building a worldwide community of young leaders made up of the Sylff Fellows at all funded institutions.
