It builds bridges between science, business, and society. In 2015, the Foundation launched the Welcome scholarship program for refugee students in Germany.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for undergraduate study.
  • Admissible Criteria: The applicants must be refugees living in Germany to be eligible.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Applicants must send their complete application for the summer semester 2023 with the required material in one pdf -File summarized by e-mail to Mrs. Simone Geerdsen:
  • Supporting Documents: A letter of motivation – one page in which applicants describe their expectations of the scholarship, a tabular curriculum vitae – 2 pages, certificates, and the certificate of enrollment exclusively in electronic form.
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet all the requirements for the program:
  • Certificate of enrollment
  • German at C1 level

  • Study place in a bachelor’s program at a German university, art or music college (humanities, economics, MINT subjects) in the first or max. 2nd semester (cooperative and private universities are excluded) The Welcome scholarship program is not aimed at Master’s students
  • BAFÖG or adequate financing
  • Language Requirement: English language skills are required.
